WE SPEAK ABOUT:
ROCK CLIMBING:

ROCCA DI PERTI:
SIMONETTA

Nice climbing route even if you have to walk from the end of a pitch and the beginning of the next one. It is a quite easy route on limestone rock, with quite a bit of polish.

Difficulty: IV+

Elevation gain: 120 m.

Gear: 6-7 quick-draws, cordalettes, 'biners for belay anchors (belay stations are set with bolts where you cannot place a sling around a tree). The route is bolted but a little bit run out in the easiest spots.

Approach: Follow the trail leading to "lo Spigolo"; pass "lo Spigolo" and continue up to the route (find the route's name written on the rock at the base).

1st PITCH (III): easy climb up and then right (clear cave). Set a tree belay station. (the belay station on the rock at your right side is of another route).
2nd PITCH (II): after a short hike, resume climbing chock stones on the right side (5 meters). Then follow the path on the left.
3rd PITCH (IV+): Climb up two stretches of slab and traverse right under a roof. Just on the right side you will find two resin bolts where setting up a belay station; but you can also continue climbing a narrow corner up to a wide ledge. Following the path, reach another ledge where setting up a tree belay station.
PITCH 4 (III, a IV move): the pitch starts on the left side of the wide ledge (signs "simonetta"). Climb the corner (a few IV moves) for a few meters and turn left. A short path between trees leads to a wide ledge.

Here you can choose if climb the original pitch (on the left side of the ledge) or a variant (a little harder). You will find signs on the rock.
PITCH 5 (variant IV+): climb a corner and a crack diagonally right. Continue to a 6-7 meter hand traverse (2 bolts along the traverse).
PITCH 5 (original IV): climb a short, vegetated corner and step right beyond a little tree on the ledge (belay).
PITCH 6 (IV): climb an overhanging wall (find a bolt where clipping your rope and then a big handhold) and an easy crack above, up to a wide ledge on the top.

Descent: Following the path towards right you will reach the base in 15 minutes.
