CLIMBING IN LIGURIA:
FINALE LIGURE

OVERVIEW. Finale Ligure is located about 25 km South-West of Savona. It's a wide area (about 10 km2) offering countless climbing routes on excellent limestone rock, even if a bit slippery especially on more popular and older routes.
The climber area is subdivided in many tiers. There is everything: from single pitch sports routes to multi-pitch bolted or trad routes.
The Monte Cucco

ACCESS. Take A10 highway (Genova-Ventimiglia) and exit:
- Orco Feglino (to reach Monte Cucco, Spaventaggi,... )
- Finale Ligure (to reach Rocca di Perti, Monte Sordo,... )

Many routes / pitches are in the 5's, but most of the newest routes are in the 6's and higher grades.
New tiers have been recently bolted, thus you can climb on very grippy limestone.
Multi-pitch routes are generally trad routes: few bolts, placed only in the "right" place. But you can easily place your gear.
