CLIMBING IN VAL D'AOSTA:
CORMA DI MACHABY

GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION. The Corma di Machaby sits near the village of Arnad. The routes climb the south-west face, thus you can climb here almost all year long

APPROACH. Take the highway A5 Torino-Aosta, exit at Verrès and drive towards Torino on SS 26. Past Arnad take a narrow road on the left just after the second highway viaduct. Park near the "Osteria l'Arcaden", an excellent restaurant to have a snack after climbing.
The Corma offers some varied and not too difficult multi-pitch climbs ending at the summit.
A via ferrata has been built just between the routes "Mitico Vento" and "Urca-Urca".

At the beginning of 2005 a rockfall damaged some climbs. The routes here described did not suffer damage.
