TRAIL:
From the refuge hike briefly down the approaching trail and then resume the ascent veering right and following the ridge (cairns). Follow the red signposts along a rocky ledge, veer left along a ridge up to a scree ledge. Hike slightly down and then continue on the level through the rocks (red signposts). After a short slope, reach the Pagari Pass (2819 m.). A breathtaking panorama unfolds from this saddle! Hike down along the trail (follow cairns) to about 2650 m. of elevation, where the path forks. Take the left fork (the right path leads to the Nizza refuge) aiming for the South West slopes of mount Clapier (follow cairns, one of them is made with an animal skull!). The path climbs the West side of mount Clapier onto rocky steps up to the summit (2h - 2,5h from the hut).
Descent:
Hike the trail backwards to reach the Pagari hut. |
