The Pennine Alps are a mountain range in the western part of the Alps. The Col Ferret separates them from the Mont Blanc Massif; the Dora Baltea valley separates them from the Graian Alps; the Simplon Pass separates them from the Lepontine Alps; the RhĂ´ne valley separates them from the Bernese Alps.
The Pennine Alps include the Valsesia group and the Valais group. The highest peak is Dufour Peak (Monte Rosa massif): 4634 m.
Some of the chief peaks of the Pennine Alps are: the Cervino (4478 m.), the Castore (4221 m.) and the Grand Combin (4314 m.)
