WE SPEAK ABOUT:
ROCK CLIMBING:

Tre Denti di Meano

Tre Denti di Meano is a group of three buttresses visible from the route SS 23 towards Fenestrelle.
Most routes have been first climbed by F. Michelin starting from 1980. Since 1999 Michelin has been re-bolting old routes and setting new ones. The group offers are about 10 routes and some single-pitch climbs.

A visit to Tre Denti di Meano is recommended: the climbing is varied, generally up slabs, on good, south facing gneiss allowing climbing in the Winter too.
In the Summer it may to too hot due to low altitude.

APPROACH. Drive along the route SS 23 that picks up the Chisone Valley up to the end of the village of Meano (a couple kilometers after Perosa).
Turn to the right just near the Meano's end road sign taking a narrow road heading to Borgata Briera: park your car about 100 m before the village. There is a parking lot at Borgata Grange (a few hundred meters before).
From Borgata Briera take the left path, starting near the first houses.
After a few meters through the village turn left and immediately right and up entering the woods. Follow cairns heading to an electricity pylon. Take the left fork and follow blue signs.
The path heads right and reaches the bottom of a scree gully. On the left you will find a little crag with 3 single-pitch climbs and a table with the list of the routes (about 20 minutes from the parking lot).

Cross the gully reaching the Eastern buttress and the starting of Spigolo Sud-Ovest) (South-Western Arete).

To gain the base of the Western buttress (routes: Via del Diedro, Via delle Placche, Via dello Spigolo and more left Via della Fessura) scramble up the gully for 10-15 minutes.
